People who are travelling outside the UK may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

Vaccination can protect you against becoming infected with a range of serious diseases such as cholera, yellow fever and tick-borne encephalitis.

Due to recent Department of Health guidelines, vaccinations which are for the purpose of travel only are not available on the NHS and so a fee is payable. This includes a private prescription fee, the actual price of the vaccination (or tablets in the case of Malaria) and a charge is payable for the vaccination course. Vaccinations which currently come into this category are Diptheria, Rabies, Meningitis and Hepatitis B. Malaria tablets are also included and Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccinations may also fall in this category.
